Box W.I. - October 2018

At the end of July, a group of 13 (WI members and husbands) visited Longfield. It was a most interesting trip and we were all very impressed with the beautiful gardens and facilities for those people facing a very difficult time of their lives. The thoughtfulness and understanding that had gone into the whole establishment was very apparent. We had a lovely cream tea and a chat and came away feeling that we were so lucky to have such a wonderful facility in our area.

Four of our members are attending a Drumming Workshop in September at Maisemore Village Hall. We are looking forward to a short demonstration at our next meeting!

As I write this, we are now looking forward to our “Summer Lunch” at the Edgemoor Inn on Thursday 20th September. We have also booked our Christmas meal at the Bear Hotel for January. Due to snow last year we had to reschedule the Christmas meal and decided that we liked January better than December!

Our speaker for October 9th is from the Cotswold Canal Trust. It is quite amazing how much has already been done along the canals and it will be interesting to hear the progress report and their future plans.

Meetings at Box Village Hall are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 10am business, coffee at 10.30am followed by a speaker. Visitors are warmly welcomed at 10.30am - £3 including coffee.
