Box W.I. - December 2016

We had a very interesting talk in October entitled “Know your Hormones” by Jenny West. It was comforting to know that serious hormone problems are rare but disquieting to learn that for this reason diagnosis is difficult!

Also in October, we were busy making poppies for Remembrance Day displays. Despite being a small WI we managed to produce a large number of knitted poppies which were then joined together by Angela Keen on instruction from the British Legion.

We are now looking forward to our Christmas lunch on 5th December at the Clothiers Arms, where members and guests, including husbands, will get together. It should be great fun!

Our first meeting of the New Year will be on Tuesday 10th January. There will be a talk entitled “Interesting Objects” by Sandra Ashenford. This will be followed by a hands on quiz to identify unusual objects – this is one of the few occasions when age is an asset!

Meetings at Box Village Hall are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 10am business, coffee at 10.30am followed by a speaker. Visitors are warmly welcomed at 10.30am - £3 including coffee.
