Minchinhampton W.I. - May 2018

The most recent meeting was held on April 4th. We were welcomed by the President and apologies from members unable to attend were read out. Members with an April birthday were given cards.

A report was given on the Annual council Meeting in Cheltenham. Preparations were discussed for hosting the Commons Edge Group Meeting in May.

Correspondence included: A new speakers’ taster morning; Vintage paper wreath making; Croquet taster afternoon; Visit to Cheltenham synagogue; Walk around Chase; Talk entitled ‘the development of pee power (electricity from urine)'.

Arrangements were made for Scrabble, Craft and the Luncheon club.

The speaker was Mr Richard Burton whose talk was entitled “Are you being served?” He proceeded to give a very amusing talk about his early years as a salesman, imitating many of the colleagues he had met along the way. Who would have thought that the TV programme ‘Are you being served’ was so true to life! Our next meeting will be at Minchinhampton Library on May 2nd at 2pm.
