Traidcraft - April 2017

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Fairtrade fortnight events held at the end of February. We raised almost £1,000 pounds from the stalls, the breakfast, guess the teddy’s name and the raffle.

Thank you so much!!
...and, as always, a special thank you to all the many helpers. Traidcraft wouldn’t happen in Minchinhampton without you!

We particularly focused on the craft side of Traidcraft this year and had some beautiful craft items on our stalls to buy. Many of the crafts are made from recycled materials and are made by Noah’s Ark which is an organization affiliated to Traidcraft . Noah’s Ark pays its workers 10 -15% more than other groups and they also employ 30% women at equal pay....unheard of in some parts of India.

Traidcraft’s aim is to promote the idea of trade not aid as a long term sustainable solution to the problem of poverty. This year the money you have raised will go towards helping the farming families whose livelihoods have been devastated by climate change enabling them to have enough to feed their families and to send their children to school.

Please look out for our monthly stalls and consider buying from Traidcraft for your regular groceries.

Easter is almost upon us!! We shall be selling Easter cards, Easter eggs and small gifts for spring. If you would like to order an Easter egg from Traidcraft - there is a list at the back of church.
