Messy Church celebrated St Nicholas

We have had another successful messy church with lots of children who brought along a parent. Several of the mothers commented that the craft activities were the best yet and included painting angel decorations, making candles and a St Nicholas card, making bishops’ mitres, mosaics and decorating biscuits. There was music and carols and the little ones had colouring sheets to complete.

The children enjoyed the story and singing the ‘St. Nicholas come and visit us’ song and were surprised when he took time out of his busy schedule to visit them. Before their meal they all removed their shoes and on returning were excited to see St Nicholas had left them a box of raisins, gold coin and sweets tucked into one shoe!

We ate 100 sausages, 12 tins of baked beans(!!!) cakes, fruit, sandwiches etc. it is surprising how much children can eat.

The Messy Church Team exceeded themselves and provided a really enjoyable afternoon for everyone and now deserve a well-earned rest before our next MC!
