GodwithUs "The constant refrain of Christmas, in carols and readings, is that God is with us. In whatever situations you find yourself this Christmas, God is with you - you need only turn to him and ask to know his presence".
Archbishop Justin Welby

“#God with Us” is the Church of England’s Christmas campaign this year. It aims to support church congregations in their own preparation for Christmas and in their invitation to others to join in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, who is God with us, during this wonderful season.

The run up to Christmas can be a busy time that crowds out its key message so I want to recommend to you one of the resources on offer that might help many of us keep a focus on God with Us. “Your Christmas Journey” is a series of short reflections throughout December and into early January 2018, introduced by Archbishop Justin Welby. The reflections have been written both for people who are new to faith and to help us all grow in our love of God. People can receive the messages in all kinds of formats (texts, emails, on social media) but it also comes in booklet form and a supply of these will be available in time for the start of Advent, so do look out for them at regular services and special events – no charge!!

Those of you who use social media can also look out for video adverts that are being produced to tell the story of people's journeys to church at Christmas and what Christmas means to them. These will be released throughout December so do share with family and friends!

We look forward to our shared reflections through Advent and Christmas and you can find out more at www.churchofengland.org/christmas .

Daily Prayer

The Church has a tradition of daily prayer which embraces the three key elements of praise, intercession and engagement with scripture.

This page links to the C of E Daily Prayer website allowing us all to join in this daily pattern of prayer. When using the Offices individually read both the priest's and people's part.

The Offices are from the Book of Common Worship for today GMT.
